About exercise session and useful tips and tricks

📝 About my TA sessions

In my sessions I would like to focus on the following:

  • review of the theory discussed during lecture - this should get you up to speed so you can solve the given exercises. In addition, as the time progresses, I would like to use this also as a way to prepare you for the oral exam where you pick one of 10 topics and should be able to speak about it. I am going to ask you from easy to challenging questions, so you can actually feel confident about speaking any topic.

  • help with the exercises - exercises are usually more practical and aim at teaching the ability to transfer the theoretical concepts into code. This will be also useful for your project where you will have to code certain selected algorithms from scratch.

  • (beyond the scope of this course) - for those willing, I would like to create a small library with implementation of the taught algorithms with corresponding documentation. You can check my initial effort here with corresponding docs. We can discuss details how this would work in class. The library would be then posted to pypi so future students might for instance use it.

Most importantly, these sessions are for you students, therefore I will appreciate any feedback which I will be happy to incorporate into my sessions. 😊
